Writing Rules

Elmore Leonard's Top Ten, excerpted from a New York Times interview, possibly with tongue in cheek, but still, a lot of truth. Click here for the list. A couple of my personal favorites:

Never open a book with weather.
Keep your exclamation points under control. You are allowed no more than two or three per 100,000 words of prose.
